Boise River Enhancement Network (BREN) and IDAWRA Presentation: Fundamentals of River Restoration
Rob Tiedemann, Ph.D. is a certified wetlands scientist, wildlife biologist, and fisheries scientist; a practicing river restoration ecologist; and Visiting Scholar with the University of Idaho's Center for Ecohydraulics Research. Dr. Tiedemann will present the Fundamentals of River Restoration and describe how rivers and floodplain habitats can be designed and restored to more naturally function within the confines of altered geomorphic and fluvial processes. Rob will discuss principles both as they apply in general to rivers in the Intermountain West and more specifically along the Boise River. Dr. Tiedemann's presentation will build upon a preceding BREN/IDAWRA presentation on the Fundamentals of Fluvial Geomorphology, which will be given by Dr. Jaime Goode at the same location on October 30th.
