Navigating Distress Through Self Compassion

Thursday, July 19, 2018, 1:00 AM

We all struggle with negative feelings (also known as "emotional distress") that are unhelpful and hold us back from manifesting our true potential. However, instead of being gentle with ourselves in these situations, we are often harsh and blameful, which only creates further emotional discord. Join psychotherapist and fellow human being, Sidrah Khan, in a journey towards heightened self-awareness by learning tools to better understand and process your emotions, which in turn will help you become more compassionate toward yourself and others. When: Wednesday, July 18 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Where: JUMP Inspire Studio on the fourth floor, take a right out of the elevators and head towards the big Inspire sign.  Cost: $10 This is part of our Connecting Community Program Series where members of the community share their passions and talents in order to connect and inspire.  *When you participate in a program or activity at JUMP, you agree to our Personal Release Statement. Sidrah Khan is a New York City educated, trained, and experienced psychotherapist. She grew up in Boise and has recently relocated back here after living in the big city for many years. She returns with the hope to bring all that she has learned and translate it back into the community. Sidrah is currently starting up a small private practice in downtown Boise, where she sees individuals and couples who are motivated to make positive life changes. What inspires you?
