Bizet's Carmen

Sunday, January 30, 2022, 2:30 PM

Bizet's Carmen is one of the most performed operas in Opera Idaho's history. It is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. José abandons his childhood sweetheart and deserts from his military duties yet loses Carmen's love to the glamorous torero Escamillo. Tenor Joshua Dennis (most recently West Side Story in Concert, 2018) returns as Don José. Also returning is director Andrew Nienaber (most recently Don Giovanni, 2018). Michael Sakir is making his Opera Idaho conducting debut.

Cost: $20.75 to $83.75
