Engineering for a Cause - Aerospace Engineering: Bottle Rocket - Grades 2nd-8th
Make an immediate impact on a child's life. Engineering for Kids® will donate a percentage of the profits to Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Idaho to help support families of ill or injured children. Workshop: Aerospace Engineering: Bottle Rocket - Grades 2nd-8th Grades: 2nd - 8th Date and Time: March 22, 2019. 9AM-12PM Location: Friendship Square, 610 Reserve St, Boise, ID 83702 Workshop Description: In this fun Aerospace Engineering workshop, students will learn how simple air pressure can propel a rocket more than one hundred feet in the air! Students will learn how aerodynamics is important in rocket design. Students will get the chance to build a large model rocket that is capable of launching using pressurized water and air. Students will use Kinematic Equations to calculate the total distance their rocket traveled. These workshops will help students gain valuable 21st Century skills that will help them be successful in life. Activities are catered to support various age groups taking into consideration the physical, social, and cognitive development of our students. Students will be challenged to: -Think Critically and Problem Solve -Use Their Creativity and Imagination -Collaborate, Communicate, and Practice Teamwork -Be a Leader and Take Initiative -Improve their Social and Emotional Skills
